Lebanese Outdoors Film Festival is the very first official outdoor sports film festival in Lebanon and the Arab world and was founded in 2020 by a team of adventure and film enthusiasts.
Nowadays film making is a dominant form of expression, and sports exist in every culture all around the world. Therefore, in addition to film screenings, LOFF will have various networking opportunities with film and sports industry guests, as well as actors and athletes, as it proposes to bring together people from different communities and backgrounds to one place, opening the barriers to cultural exchange and providing a space for debates and discussions.
LOFF will regionally fill a void in the film festival scene, as it is as a much-needed linking hub between two of the most inspirational practices. Through screening local and International films showcasing outdoor sports as a theme, LOFF will be viewed as an established platform for both filmmakers and athletes to launch their careers.
LOFF films promote inspiration and change, as most sports films discuss physical movement, social change, awareness to nature, women empowerment, gender equality, or mind-spirit encouraging habits, which are all materials expected to boost positivity and motivation, enhancing individual and social growth.
LOFF aims to raise awareness on the importance of preserving Lebanon’s and the earth’s natural features. Our local films aims to boost Lebanon’s tourism and the sport’s community. Also, in general, outdoor sport films - directly or indirectly - will develop environmental consciousness and discuss climate changes, thus increasing knowledge on the later subjects widely.
“A viewer is always inspired when watching a film about a biography of an athlete or a simply about any outdoor sport.”

As a leader in outdoor sports
Jad is well known for his crazy performance in windsurfing, surfing, snowboarding and longoarding. With that same audacity, he guides
LOFF into the correct path to achieving its vision. Jad was also one of the athlete swimmers in ‘180km Open Water Swim Traverse’ that
screened in the first edition of LOFF. Knowing how active he is, he will be part of many future outdoor movies for sure.
Nicolas has dedicated his life to the outdoors. He is now one of the most active figures in Lebanon. He has been a trainer in many sports,
from skiing in winter to climbing in summer to kayaking to freediving... With his know-how and connections Nicolas is a great added
value to the team. 2020 would haven’t happened smoothly without him managing the operation at the event with a team of volunteers.
Founder and Previously the president of the Lebanese climbing association, Rami has always dedicated his free time to serve the
outdoor community. Rami is one of the first onboard, and has pushed LOFF to where it is now. In parallel, he takes care of all the legal
tasks, from registering the company to getting screening rights, etc..
LOFF was born after Halim and 2 of his German friends (luggi and nico) filmed a short movie Crossing Lebanon from Sannine to Qornet
el Sawda, then decided to screen it in Lebanon. After gathering a few movies from key people in the outdoor community and with the
help of the 4 other team members, this screening became a festival, the “LEBANESE OUTDOORS FILM FESTIVAL”
